After more than five years of meticulous restoration work, Engine No. 9 will make its first public appearance from May 24 through May 26 in Mill Valley. On Saturday and Sunday the locomotive will be at Depot Plaza, with docents standing by to give you background on Engine No. 9, the work that went into its restoration, and the engine’s history with the Mount Tamalpais and Muir Woods Scenic Railway. Then, on Memorial Day, Engine No. 9 will participate in the Mill Valley Memorial Day Parade and will again be on display at the Mill Valley Community Center in the afternoon.

This will be the only opportunity to see No. 9 in Marin before it heads off to the California State Railroad Museum in Sacramento, where it will be the featured exhibit in a temporary display starting this summer. Â
We welcome all friends of No. 9 to march with us in the parade. Just come and find us at 10:30 a.m. in the staging area near Old Mill School.
We look forward to seeing you!
